Team Leader: Lv Yuping (PhD)
Field of expertise: Plant molecular genetics。Biotechnology and biological breeding, mainly responsible for research and development direction strategic layout and team management。In 2019, he won the title of Hainan High-level Talents Outstanding Talent。
Dr. Lv Yuping currently serves as Vice President of Yuan Longping Agricultural High-tech Co., LTD and General Manager of Longping Biotechnology (Hainan) Co., LTD。He has been the chief scientist and senior director of Ceres Company in the United States, and the operations director of Syngenta Biotechnology (China) Co., LTD. In 2010, he returned to China as the general manager of Dabinong Group's Biotechnology Center。Dr. Lv Yaping has published more than 10 papers in the highly influential international magazines "Plant Cell", "PNAS" and "JBC", and obtained a total of 27 international and domestic patents。
Dr. Lv Yuping has been appointed as visiting professor of China Agricultural University, Distinguished Professor of Lanzhou University, Visiting professor of the National Gene Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, adjunct professor of Northwest A&F University, member of the Council of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Biotechnology, Vice chairman of the Chinese Branch of Agricultural Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and member of the general expert Group of National Major transgenic projects。

Team research and work construction
Longping Biotechnology (Hainan) Co., LTD. Team (hereinafter referred to as "Longping Bio")
Research content: Focus on the development of key "chip" technologies for biological breeding: new insect-resistant genes, large-scale corn/soybean transformation platforms, corn gene editing technology, new male sterile seed production technology and new genes for drought resistance and water saving。
Research achievement: Longping Biology fills the short board of transgenic industry chain for Longping High-tech Group;The design of the commercial carrier of biochip Longping 007 is in the international leading level, which realizes the multi-resistant mechanism and greatly delays the generation of resistant pests.It is the first time in China to carry out four generations of biological breeding in Sanya in one year.
Team building: The management mode of full ownership of the team greatly mobilized the enthusiasm of the team for technological innovation;When commercialized, the technology and products are expected to occupy 25-50% of the Chinese market。
Development goal: To achieve the goal of continuous biological breeding technology innovation in the tropical four seasons in Sanya, layout the research and development of the whole season and the whole industry chain, and realize the intelligent manufacturing of the core technologies and products of the seed industry in China。

The main research results of Longping biological team
In terms of the construction of scientific research platforms, a series of crop GM product development platforms have been built: carrier construction, crop genetic transformation platform, molecular detection, greenhouse and field management platform, transformation event screening and backcross breeding platform. The research and development platform has landed in Sanya Yazhouwan Science and Technology City, filling the vacancy in Hainan。

Demand for pest and herbicide resistant products for domestic and Brazilian markets,Developed insect-resistant and herbicide-resistant transgenic corn Longping 007,Resistance was assessed at carrier level,The developed products have good resistance to corn borer, Oriental slime worm, small ground tiger, grass armyworm and beet moth,Prediction based on insect resistance management model,Longping 007 can greatly prolong the life cycle of corn and increase the yield of corn,Bring huge benefits to farmers。This technology is currently in the international leading level, in line with the urgent needs of South America and domestic corn production, can reduce the dependence on foreign seed enterprises genetically modified products, so that Chinese seed enterprises have a stronger voice in the international market, with great application value and economic benefits。Longping 007 and other core products are planned to complete all safety assessment regulatory tests and obtain GMO safety certificates before 2023, and timely respond to the urgent domestic problem of Armyworm hazards。

In terms of exploring the speed of research and development of biological breeding, to achieve the goal of planting four generations of corn/soybeans in Hainan a year, Longping biological team has developed a set of standardized multi-season planting management program, and established a greenhouse and net room that meet the growth conditions of Sanya's tropical climate all year round。For a long time,China's southern breeding breed only adds one generation of planting in Hainan every winter,If crop breeding is carried out regularly in tropical areas where it is warm all year round, the generation time is further shortened with embryo rescue technology,Four generations of corn can be grown in a year,It can greatly improve the efficiency of crop breeding and biotechnology product development,Fill the gap of successful seed breeding cases of four generations in one year in China。
